Asian Beetles musclerelief

Do you have lady bugs in your home?
These bugs are not lady bugs. They are Asian Beetles.

Asian Beetles were brought into this country to control the Soy Bean Aphids. The festation started in the southern states and has proceeded to the north. The beetles are attracted to the heat of a home during the cool fall after the soy bean harvest. They may be seen mostly on the sunny side of the home where the siding is the warmest. They find their way into the home through cracks or gaps along the windows and doors of the home.  Insecticides are effective but costly. Chemicals may also be harmful to the residents of the home. There is one thing that does work to keep the beetles out of the home. That is aromatherapy essential oils.

Rosemary and Patchouli are natural insect repellents. The oils will keep the new beetles from coming into your home. Just place the open jar in the window sill on the sunny side of the home. The aroma will intensify from the heat of the sun. Central air or forced air heat systems will spread the aroma throughout the home. A cotton ball can be used to spread the aroma to other areas of the home. Place the cotton ball into a coffee cup to keep the oils off wood surfaces. Always put a coaster under the jars to protect the wood finish. One jar will last the season and will cover one or two levels depending on the square footage. The oils do not kill the beetles. You must continue to clean up the beetles that are trapped in your home. It may take a week or two to eliminate the beetles. Keep these and all essential oils away from children to reduce the possibility of spilling.
